McCarthy Completes American Freightways Customer Center in St. Charles

McCarthy, serving as construction manager, completed work on the $15 million American Freightways Customer Center in St. Charles for the Harrison, Ark.-based trucking firm. The center serves as a link in the national chain of American Freightways? centers and is a facility for local freight customers.

As construction manager, McCarthy coordinated with many contractors and provided some construction services. The project included extensive site preparation before construction began last year. American Freightways served as architect of record.

The new center includes an 18,400-square-foot, two-story office building; a 10,400-square-foot shop facility; a fueling area to service the local fleet; and a main terminal with 208 dock doors for truck access.
